Robotic welding

Highly precise welding using FlexArc® ABB technology

Robotic welding

Optimal productivity requires equipment that combines effective operation with maximum cost-efficiency.

Modular, standardized robot cells are an established way of providing this type of solution. Therefore, a key acquisition for our technology park in 2015 is the FlexArc® ABB welding robot.

FlexArc® is a new generation of standardized welding cells, which are designed to deliver cost-effective, state of-the art robotic welding operations. All cells deliver maximum performance whilst making optimum use of available space.

FlexArc® ABB is:

  • A 6 axes welding robot which has two 5-axes positioners for complete 3D in space welding
  • The size of the positioning table is 2000x1000x1250mm
  • Maximum load of the positioning table is 700kg
  • Repeatable path accuracy of 0.14mm
  • Repeatable positioner accuracy relative to a 500 mm radius of ± 0.05 mm
  • Speed of rotating the fixture by 180 degrees in the horizontal plane (for welding from below). Measured from the start to the end of the positioning table's movement: up to 4.5 sec
  • Positioner rotation speed with fixtures, measured as the process from completion of the last weld, with the welding fixture rotating 180 degrees back to its original horizontal position, to the carousel turning to the start of the first weld: up to 7.5 sec.
